The Spatz 'BURNR' Hat has been in the pipeline a while, but we wouldn't release it until it was absolutely perfect. There are other hats on the market which look similar, but they fail to hit the mark; either the peak is too big, or it won't flip up effectively, or the rear pulls down too far and irritates your neck...
So we kept developing and sampling until we produced the perfect hat for winter riding. The Spatz 'BURNR' Hat is made from fully water repellent roubaix fabric with a soft fleecy lining. It is thin enough to sit comfortably under a helmet and covers the ears beautifully without affecting your hearing.
The positioning, size and cut of the peak mean that it can be worn 'down' as a visor to shelter your eyes from the wind and rain, or popped 'up' for increased field of vision when you are on the drops of the bars.
The perfect cycling hat should offer warmth and protection to the rider without ever being noticed. It should neither be too loose nor too tight. For this reason, we have used a very pliable fabric and added an elastic gripper at the rear to offer the perfect fit, regardless of head size.
Ear flaps can also be worn 'up' or 'down' (covering the ears) when conditions demand. We have cut the rear hem so that it won't dig in to your neck when you are in an aero tuck.
Every now and then, a product is developed which changes your winter riding for the better. The Spatz 'BURNR' Hat is exactly that...
Spatz: It's raining. You're training...

It looks just the job for winter cosy riding. Haven’t had the opportunity to use it as I’ve fractured my femur so off the bike for this winter. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to put it to the test.
Even with light snow rain and gusty winds on open roads great isolation and protection ✌️
Great for riding in chilly to extra cold weather. Seam placement is perfect to make it comfortable with any helmet. A+. Buy two because you’re going to love it.
This is a Christmas present so cant give anyfeedback
Really good thermal properties, despite being quite thin. Keeps you warm well (even sub zero) but you dont overheat when you're on the chain gang
Only thing i have not worked out is how to wear this wiht the balaclava
